In our previous newsletters, we have reported on tundishes and the dry masses used for their wear lin-ing. This time we present a different kind of wear lining innovation in our product development, Cold Set-ting materials.

In Cold Setting materials, we can utilise the aggregates we use in dry masses as well as recycled raw mate-rials. The liquid component mixed with the materials – usually water – provides the necessary bonding and causes rapid curing.

As can be deduced from the product name, no heat is required to form the bond and the material allows the casting process to “cold start”. Since the tundish wear lining and safety lining do not require heating or preheating, our Cold Setting materials bring significant energy savings to the customer. The materials also do not create dust, which improves the working conditions in the tundish area.
