News

The goal of keeping our production safe and cost-efficient requires constant development across our various operations. In this newsletter, we will share some of the most recent development projects aimed at ensuring that our production activities remain up to date, safe and cost-efficient.

At the premix plant, we most recently procured surface measuring sensors for the silos in mix production. They will make it easier to assess the amounts of material and filling times of the silos while making emptying, loading and inventories more efficient.

Our premix plant has silos for both aluminium oxide and magnesium oxide. For the latter, we have procured a multi-way valve, which allows the feeding of the material through a pipeline. This, in turn, eliminates additional sieving and expedites the production.

Our third investment at the premix plant is the new choke hatch that will make it easier to dispense the most challenging types of dust and reduce the risk of errors.

Our structural components, in other words our refractory elements, are manufactured in the casting hall. We procured a feeding silo for the ceramics workshop of the casting hall to improve the ergonomics of our employees as it means they no longer need to lift small bags in their work. This will also make it faster to dispense and weigh the mix. We can also provide similar feeding silos to our customer to make their work easier and to enable the transition from small bags to big bags.

In the aggregate and hauling equipment department, we invested in a magnetic overband separator that will be even more precise in separating metals from our circular materials and reduce the amount of manual labour. This will spare the impact crusher and make our products even purer.

Furthermore, our loader now has motion detectors to improve occupational safety.

Even though our development efforts focus on continuous improvement and small, quick measures, we are simultaneously working on larger projects as well. One example is the crushing plant, which has already been decided on as an investment by our Board of Directors. As crushing is mainly used on recycled materials, the plant will enable more extensive use of such materials as well as stronger customer support in products with a smaller carbon footprint. The investment will take place next summer and the specific timing will be agreed upon during the winter.

And our development goes on and on and on…
