18^th Biennial worldwide congress on refractories will be held at Frankfurt on 26^th to 29^th of September. Bet-Ker will participate this congress where our Development Manager Antti Piippo will have presentation. Presentation “Observations on the strength and drying performance of SolCast castables” gives insight of Bet-Kers latest innovations on the SolCast product family. Drying of SolCast products is faster compared to traditional LCC castables. This was validated in industry scale tests where 400kg blocks were rapidly heated. Drying program lasted only 16 hours which is several times shorter compared to traditional drying times. SolCast castables have higher refractoriness with same aggregates compared to traditional cement bonded castables. This is because of low amount of CaO which will form low melting phases. These castables also have higher density which inhibits penetration of melts to the castable. First tests at our customers are ongoing.
