The long and challenging COVID era has impacted our daily lives in various ways, such as cutting back on face-to-face encounters and putting a stop to the new tradition of annual Refractory Highlights conferences.

As the pandemic is coming to an end and our previous conferences used to gather a large numbers of participants, receive a lot of positive feedback and generate excellent, refractory discussions, we are once again inviting Nordic professionals of refractory materials to the Refractory Highlights conference. This year, the conference will be held in Luleå on 24– 25 May 2023 in cooperation with Krosaki Harima Europe.

The first day of the conference always includes presentations by refractory material manufacturers and steel mills using the materials, as well as inspiring discussions. On the second day, we will visit a factory and familiarise ourselves with refractory materials in practice.

In the first conference in Kalajoki in 2018, we visited Bet-Ker Oy’s production facilities. The following year, the conference in Raahe included a visit to the SSAB Raahe factory. This year, we will spend the first day at the Savoy Hotel in Luleå where the formal proceedings will be followed by a dinner and other activities. On the second day, we will visit SSAB’s steel plant in Luleå.
