The annual Refractory Highlights conference groups together the leading professionals in the Nordic refractories sector to share their expertise and discuss the latest developments in the field. The event has received a lot of praise for its topical content, networking opportunities, and positive and open atmosphere! The popularity of the conference has grown year by year, which is also reflected in the participant numbers. The photograph shows some of the participants at last year’s conference having a good time.

This year’s conference is the fourth of its kind, and it will be held in Sandviken, Sweden, on 22–23 May 2024. Hosted by Bet-Ker Oy and Krosaki Harima Europe, the theme of the event is Greener metal making with refractories. The two-day conference starts at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday with a presentation by refractory materials manufacturers and end users – detailed topics to be confirmed in February – and the day ends with a splendid networking dinner and party! On the second conference day, we will visit the Alleima steel factory and wrap up the conference with a shared lunch.
