1. Working together with us

We are constantly developing different recycling solutions to reduce environmental impact and our own total carbon footprint in terms of raw material carbon emissions. A genuine passion for recycling flows through our veins. We started our company’s refractory operations with recycling-based products and received a national award for our innovations in recycling as early as 1978.

We know how to help our customers with refractory waste. Over the years, we have learned which materials should be recycled and where recycling-based products provide the best added value for our customers.

Recycling takes place at our production facilities in Ylivieska. This year, we are investing in both our equipment and infrastructure in order to be able to recycle even more in the future.

2. Waste collection and sorting

Before we start our recycling collaboration, we need information about the lining materials, application and the amount of waste being generated. Based on these, we can make an assessment of the usability of the material, the potential risks associated with the recycled material and the overall economic efficiency.

Refractory products are usually removed from their application by dismantling the lining. Linings may contain – or the dismantling sites may process – different materials that should not be mixed together too much. Separating and sorting the dismantled materials afterwards is also very laborious.

Efficient logistics are essential for the financial efficiency of recycling. It would be good to immediately separate the materials into their own pallets, silos or big bags, for example. This eliminates unnecessary processing steps and ensures cost-effective transportation.

3. Product design and manufacture

We design our products to get the most out of the materials. Naturally, there are also uncertainties associated with impurities in recycled materials. However, our customers can feel confident when using our products made from recycled raw materials, as we have extensive experience, know the risks from the outset, carry out the recycling correctly and know the intended use of the product.

Our product portfolio includes many aluminium oxide and magnesium-based solutions made from recycled raw materials that have been well-received by our customers, such as casting, gunning and dry materials, as well as, of course, recycling-based precast components. In some cases, we are also able to offer a “closed-loop” solution, where the material collected from the customer is reused – usually at another one of the customer’s sites.

As such, please contact us if you have refractory waste. We would be happy to familiarise ourselves with your site and discuss the different options, and then work together to find a solution that makes sense and benefits both parties!
